This study aimed to identify strategic management and its role in crisis management through a field study on employees at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the Gaza Strip. The researchers employed a descriptive-analytical approach, using a questionnaire as the primary tool for data collection. The study population consisted of (92) employees holding supervisory positions at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.
The most significant results of the study were:
The level of strategic management among employees was high, achieving a relative weight of (68.74%). The dimensions of strategic management were ranked as follows: Partnership (77.32%) with a high degree, Future Vision (65.4%) with a medium degree, and Foresight (63.50%) with a medium degree. Furthermore, the level of crisis management among employees was high, with a relative weight of (72.75%). The results also indicated a statistically significant positive correlation at the significance level of (α≤0.05) between strategic management and crisis management, and a significant positive impact of strategic management dimensions (Foresight, Future Vision, and Partnership) on crisis management.
The most significant recommendations of the study were:
Hospital management should pay increasing attention to strategic management and its techniques due to its positive reflections on managing the crises facing the hospital, as it improves employee productivity and fosters creative and innovative thinking. The researchers also recommend that hospital management empower employees to achieve future goals, and establish a "Crisis Observatory" within the hospital to address the diverse types of crises facing the health sector—whether related to pandemics, medical referrals, or wars—to predict potential crises. Finally, the study recommends implementing a comprehensive incentive and reward system within the hospital.
