This research paper, entitled “Determinants of Saudi Positions on Normalization with Israel in the Context of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood,” lists and analyzes the most important positions that the Saudi and Israeli sides seek to achieve. The first section addresses Saudi motives for normalization with Israel, and the second section is dedicated to describing and analyzing Saudi positions regarding Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. The research paper concludes with a key finding: that reconciling its national interests with its regional interests has led Saudi Arabia to adopt positions along two tracks. The first is to maintain its religious standing by adopting positions that support the Palestinian cause, and the second is other positions that support Israel in order to protect its national interests
