Abstract

Teaching Performance of Secondary School Teachers and Its Impact on Students’ Academic Achievement in the Light of Quality Standards: An Analytical Descriptive Study in Secondary Schools of Souq Al-Khamis Al-Khums, Libya
This study aimed to identify the level of teaching performance among secondary school teachers and its impact on their students’ academic achievement in light of educational quality standards in Souq Al-Khamis Al-Khums, Libya. The study employed the descriptive analytical approach due to its suitability for the objectives and nature of the research.
The study population consisted of secondary school teachers, while a random sample of 150 teachers was selected. A questionnaire was used as the main instrument for data collection. The instrument included four dimensions: lesson planning, teaching implementation, classroom management and assessment, and the use of technology and quality standards.
The findings revealed that the level of teaching performance among secondary school teachers was high. The results also indicated a high level of students’ academic achievement from the teachers’ perspectives. Furthermore, a statistically significant positive correlation was found between teaching performance and students’ academic achievement, indicating that improved teaching performance contributes to better academic outcomes.
The results showed no statistically significant differences in teaching performance attributed to gender, whereas significant differences were found according to educational qualification and years of experience in favor of teachers with higher qualifications and longer experience.
The study recommended strengthening professional development programs for teachers, promoting the integration of educational technology, and enhancing the implementation of quality standards in schools to improve teaching performance and students’ academic achievement.
