This study aims to examine the life cycle of administrative records and its role in preserving and organizing archives within institutions. The study discusses the theoretical framework of administrative records, including their concept, characteristics, and importance in administrative work. It also explains the stages of the records life cycle, namely the current stage, the semi-current stage, and the final stage.
The study further addresses archive organization methods, document arrangement techniques, and record preservation approaches, whether through traditional paper-based systems or modern electronic archiving systems. The research adopts the descriptive analytical method by reviewing relevant literature and previous studies related to records management and archival organization.
The findings indicate that applying the records life cycle concept significantly improves the efficiency of archive management in institutions. It helps reduce document accumulation and facilitates easier access to information. The study also highlights the importance of adopting modern records management systems, especially with the growing shift toward electronic archiving in institutions
