Background: The family constitutes the foundational institution for child socialization, wherein parental treatment approaches exert decisive influence on the formation of offspring's future personality development. Contemporary psychological literature demonstrates a robust association between parenting practices and personality trait development, particularly during the university period characterized by intensive psychological and social maturation.
Objective: This investigation seeks to examine the relationship between parenting styles and personality characteristics among Faculty of Arts students at Elmergib University, Libya, while analyzing gender-based individual differences in these constructs.
Research Problem: Notwithstanding the theoretical and applied significance of comprehending parenting style-personality trait relationships, literature review indicates a paucity of research within the Libyan context, warranting indigenous investigations to elucidate these dynamics within Libya's cultural framework.
Hypotheses: The study posits statistically significant correlations between parenting approaches and personality dimensions within the sample population, alongside anticipated gender differences in specific personality characteristics
