This research investigates the syntactic issues in the simple verbal sentence, using the poetry of Abu al-Qasim al-Shabbi as a primary source for analysis. The study distinguishes between the "simple sentence" (the minor sentence), which consists of a single nexus of predication (musnad and musnad ilayh), and the "compound sentence" (the major sentence). The research is divided into four main axes: word order (rank), omission (elision), agreement (concord), and tense. The analysis demonstrates that Al-Shabbi largely adhered to the classical rules established by Arab grammarians regarding the precedence of the subject over the object, the conditions for eliding the object, and the rules of gender and number agreement. The study also highlights the temporal flexibility of verbal forms in his poetry, showing how particles and contexts shift the chronological reference of the verb.
