Some social variables and their relationship to health awareness among young people in Libyan society: A social study in Sirte city

The study aimed to shed light on some of the social variables influencing health awareness among youth in Libyan society. The researcher used the descriptive approach using a social survey method, which was applied to 382 youth in the city of Sirte. The sample was randomly selected, and data was collected through a questionnaire that included a health awareness scale designed by the researcher after being subjected to arbitration and measurement of validity and reliability. Among the results reached by the study: There is an acceptable level of health awareness among contemporary Libyan youth. There is a direct, statistically significant relationship between education and the level of health awareness among youth. Age is an influential factor in the level of health awareness as it increases with age. It was found that the economic level of the family and place of residence affect the level of health awareness and culture. The Internet plays an important role in spreading health culture and awareness among contemporary Libyan youth.
