Data Sharing Policy

The Libyan Open University Journal of Medical Sciences and Sustainability (LOUJMSS) is committed to promoting transparency and reproducibility in scientific research. The journal encourages authors to make their underlying research data publicly available whenever possible.

  • Encouraging Data Sharing: Authors are strongly encouraged to share the data that supports the findings of their published articles. This includes, but is not limited to, raw data, processed data, and the code used for analysis.

  • Data Availability Statement: All manuscripts should include a "Data Availability Statement" at the end of the text. This statement should explain where the data is available (e.g., in a public repository), or provide a reason why it cannot be shared (e.g., privacy concerns, ethical restrictions).

  • Data Citation: When data is deposited in a public repository, authors should cite the dataset in their manuscript's reference list. This ensures that the data can be located and attributed correctly.

  • Exceptions to the Policy: The journal recognizes that there may be valid reasons for not sharing data, particularly when it involves sensitive information about human subjects. In such cases, authors must provide a clear justification in their Data Availability Statement.

This policy helps to ensure that research is verifiable and that the scientific community can build upon the work of others more effectively.
