National identity between the social contract and political stability: An approach based on the thought of John Locke

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between national identity, the social contract, and political stability from the perspective of John Locke, who developed a political theory based on the social contract, natural rights, and the legitimacy of government. The study aims to analyze how national identity is formed within the framework of the social contract and to demonstrate its impact on achieving political stability.

The study concludes that national identity is not a fixed concept, but rather a direct result of the success of the social contract in achieving justice and guaranteeing rights, and that political stability is linked to the legitimacy of government and public satisfaction with it. The study also affirms that John Locke's thought provides a coherent theoretical framework for understanding the relationship between these concepts in the contemporary political context, making it an important reference for analyzing issues of the state and society.
