Abstract

This study examines the transformations and shifts in European media discourse regarding Islam and Muslims. Media discourse characterized by hostility and the distortion of Islam’s image has been on the rise following the events of September 11, 2001. These events had a detrimental impact, intensifying the severity of European media rhetoric toward Islam and leading to the leveling of accusations against Muslims-a trend exacerbated by the rise of the far right in certain European nations and the control exercised by some European extremists over media outlets. Consequently, media biases have become pronounced, and Muslims in Europe now face threats from both communists and the far right-groups that harbor overt hostility toward Islam and Muslims, particularly those residing within Europe
