This study aimed to identify the level of Nomophobia and Dogmatism among a sample of Benghazi University students, examine the correlational relationship between the two variables, and investigate the differences in both Nomophobia and Dogmatism according to the variables of: Gender, Specialization, and Academic Level.
The study sample consisted of (205) male and female students from the Faculties of Education and Medical Colleges at Benghazi University. The study instruments applied were: the Nomophobia scale developed by Yildirim and Correia (2015) and translated by the researchers, and the Dogmatism scale developed by Ray (1970) and translated by the researcher. The psychometric properties (validity and reliability) of both scales were verified and found to possess good indicators.
The study concluded that the level of both Nomophobia and Dogmatism among the sample was moderate tending towards high. The results also indicated no statistically significant correlational relationship between Nomophobia and Dogmatism, and no statistically significant differences in both Nomophobia and Dogmatism attributable to the variables of Gender, Academic Specialization, and Academic Level.
