Abstract

Scientific research is considered a fundamental pillar in the development of academic institutions and the achievement of intellectual and administrative progress. However, it faces numerous challenges that affect its efficiency and the quality of its outcomes. Among the most prominent of these challenges are inadequate funding, limited research facilities and resources, administrative and teaching burdens, weak scientific collaboration, and insufficient incentives and support for researchers. These obstacles negatively impact scientific productivity and limit the ability of academic institutions to contribute to addressing societal issues and meeting community needs.

This study seeks to identify the major challenges facing scientific research in academic institutions and to explore the means of developing and enhancing it through strengthening institutional support, providing an appropriate research environment, encouraging scientific publication and research collaboration, employing modern technologies, and linking scientific research to the needs of society and the requirements of development.
