Editorial Policy

The Libyan Open University Journal of Applied Sciences (LOUJAS) maintains a clear and transparent editorial policy to ensure the integrity, quality, and ethical standards of all published work. This policy serves as a guide for authors, reviewers, and the editorial team.

1. Peer Review Process

LOUJAS employs a double-blind peer review system. This means that both the identities of the authors and the reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process. This model is chosen to ensure that manuscripts are evaluated objectively and solely on their scientific merit.

  • Reviewers: All reviewers are experts in their specific fields, providing unbiased, constructive feedback to help improve the quality of the manuscripts.

  • Decision: The final decision on a manuscript's publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief, based on the recommendations from the reviewers.

2. Publication Ethics and Malpractice

LOUJAS is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in scientific publishing. Any form of academic misconduct is strictly prohibited.

  • Originality: All submissions must be original, unpublished work. The journal uses plagiarism detection tools to screen all manuscripts.

  • Plagiarism: The use of others' work without proper citation is a serious ethical violation. This includes self-plagiarism (re-using one's own published text without citation).

  • Authorship: All individuals listed as authors must have made a significant contribution to the research. All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.

  • Conflicts of Interest: All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could be perceived as a conflict of interest related to the research.

3. Open Access and Copyright

LOUJAS is an open-access journal.

  • Free Access: All articles are published and made available online for free, without any subscription fees.

  • License: Published content is distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Public License (CC BY 4.0), allowing for wide reuse and distribution, provided proper attribution is given.

  • Copyright: Authors retain the copyright to their articles, granting the journal the right of first publication.

4. Archiving

To ensure the long-term preservation and accessibility of its content, LOUJAS digitally archives all published articles. This guarantees that the journal's content remains permanently available.
