Abstract

This research aims to identify the injuries sustained by physical therapists during physiotherapy sessions. The researchers used a descriptive survey methodology. The sample was randomly selected from physical therapists working in physiotherapy centers in Zawiya City Center, totaling (34) therapists. The researchers relied on a questionnaire consisting of 14 questions directed to the therapists to collect data. To answer the research questions, the research used the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, percentage, chi-square test, and significance level.

The results showed that the injuries included pain in the shoulder muscles, as well as muscle strain and fatigue, neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, arm muscle pain, and hand pain, accompanied by neck pain, and suffering from pain in the shoulder joint, fingers, and wrists (carpal tunnel syndrome) .

The researchers recommended emphasizing the importance of considering age differences when developing occupational prevention programs for physical therapists. These programs should include upper limb strengthening exercises, provide adequate rest periods, and develop clear programs for managing high physical exertion during therapy to avoid overuse injuries. They also recommended conducting future studies addressing specific types of injuries among physical. Therapists and their relationship to years of experience and the nature of their specialization.
