الملخص

The main purpose of this paper is to explain the concept of equivalence in translation. It is essential for any translation researcher to understand that discussions on "equivalence in translation" should not be confined to a single theorist. Equivalence is a key concept in translation. It is eventually a process of finding an “equal” code in the TL to replace a ST counterpart. Subsequently, this paper seeks to provide a critical review of the concept of equivalence, focusing on well-known translation theorists. Equivalence is defined as the connection between a source text and a target text that validates the target text as a translation of the source text in the first place.
