Barriers to enabling people with disabilities to work and the role of social work in addressing them

The study aims to identify the obstacles to enabling people with disabilities to join the workforce using a descriptive approach on a purposive sample of social workers employed in government institutions in the city of Bani Walid. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are: They lack some job skills, with a weighted arithmetic mean (2.55) and relative importance (85). The workplace and its facilities are not suitable for their health condition, with a weighted arithmetic mean (2.9) and relative importance (95). The study recommended the need to pay attention to the education of persons with disabilities, especially university and higher education, and to take into account their privacy in the work environment in a manner consistent with their ease of movement and performance of their work.
